Babe (Huckabaa) Thompson

Babe Huckabaa Thompson, age 100 of Crestview, passed away on Saturday August 6, 2016. She was born in Andalusia, AL on November 15, 1915, to Willie and Mary Huckabaa. Babe loved to cook, especially her red velvet cake and pound cake. She also enjoyed cooking her dumplings for her family. Babe was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dave Thompson; sisters: Hattie Huckabaa, Iralene Huckabaa-Pippin, Addie Huckabaa-Davis, Trudy Rowell –Garrett, Willie V. Rowell-Smith and Eva Rowell-Money-Jinks; brothers: Willie Martin, Gettys, Carl, Acre, James Edgar and Eugene Huckabaa. Babe is survived by lots of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A time of visitation with the family will b held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. The celebration of Babe’s life will be on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Cluster Springs Cemetery.
