Catherine Green

Catherine Green, age 89, went to be with her heavenly father on Monday, July 6, 2015. She was born in St. Joseph, Tennessee, on April 21, 1926 to Evie and Charlie Morrison. She attended Lakewood Church and retired from the Okaloosa County School District. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening.  She loved her pets, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

            Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Green; parents, Evie and Charlie Morrison; Brothers, Carthel, Spencer, and Rex Morrison; and sister, Mona Gabel.

She is survived by her daughter, Janie Peterson; son Danny Frank Green; grandchildren, Cathi Brennan and Joe, Cherri Wolf and Scott, and Jed Green; great-granddaughters, Cadan Elizabeth, Carlin Emily, Camryn Erin Brennan and Addison Greenlee Wolf; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

 A time of visitation will be held at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home, Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 6:00-8:00PM. The funeral service for Catherine will be on Friday, July 10, 2015; at 11:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery.

            In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to any animal welfare charity of your choice or Alzheimer’s Association of America.  The family would like to thank the staff of Crestview Rehab for their care and compassion.  Your kindness will not be forgotten.
