Donell Hughes

Donell Hughes, age 84, passed away Saturday evening, May 6, 2017, in Crestview, FL. Donell was born May 27, 1932, in Covington County, AL, to the late Addie and James Durell Hughes. He farmed his whole life in the Wing Community, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Eva Hughes, and a brother, Carthell Hughes. Donell is survived by a son and daughter in law, Dale and Rhonda Hughes; sisters and brothers, Wanell Jordan (husband, Buddy), MaryNell Little (Harold), Johnny Hughes, Mary Evelyn King, Danny Hughes (Gayle) and Bobby Hughes, two grandchildren, Gail Miles and Stacy Foley; great grandchildren, Matthew Barrow, Paige Tidwell, Makayla Beckjorden, Nikki Beckjorden, Kaitlyn Miles and Jennifer Miles; and two great great grandchildren, Paisley Tidwell and Resey Barrow. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview, with Rev. Jonathan Shepherd officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning starting at 9 am. Burial will follow at Mt. Herman Cemetery in Wing.
