Duane “Ox” Eliason


Duane Eliason, age 85 of Crestview, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. He was born in Haynes, North Dakota on November 27, 1927 to Howard and Eunice Eliason. He was raised in Oregon and after graduating high school he went in the military and served his country in the United States Air Force. While serving in the military he met his wife Maxine at a military dance. Most of their married life has been spent in Crestview with a few years in several different states. Duane was a member of First Baptist Church of Crestview; he loved sports, hunting, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Darrell Eliason.
Survived by his wife of 62 years, Maxine Eliason, and his daughter Deborah K Dubose of Crestview, two sons; Duke Eliason and his wife Norma of Shalimar, and Troy Eliason and wife Jerri of Jacksonville, and two sisters; Bernadine Gunderson and Joann Parker. He is also survived by his granddaughters Elizabeth and Chris Anderson, Caitlin Eliason, Ava Lee and Mia Jean Eliason.

A time of visitation will be held Monday, November 25, 2013 from 9:30-11:00am at First Baptist Church of Crestview with the service starting at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Alan Kilgore and Rev. Raymond Williams and burial following at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery.
