Ed Griffith age 81 of Crestview passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Crestview on August 16, 1936, to Kit and Isle Griffith. Ed was a lifelong resident of Crestview. He owned and operated Ed’s Brake and Alignment Shop on Main Street with the Big Temco sign. Ed retired from the Okaloosa County Bus Shop where he worked for 20 plus years. He also was a teacher at Crestview High School in the Vo-Tech Department. He loved to hunt and fish, especially taking the kids and grandkids and teaching them how to master the woods and rivers. Ed had many adventures on the rivers of Okaloosa county with friends and family, but most of all he loved to hear the dogs run. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Ella Fair Mason, Dorothy Johnson, Margie Ulrich and Miriam Gillis. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Charlotte Griffith, his daughters: Debbie Griffith and Jesse Danley, Cindy Griffith and Ronnie Lundsford, and his sons: Johnny Griffith, and Frankie Griffith. Also surviving are his 2 grandchildren: Shawn Griffith and Shea Boykin and husband Charles, and a great grandchild Cabela Mason and Larmie Boykin, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A time of visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, December 22, 2017, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. The celebration of Ed’s life will be at 11 am at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will follow at Milligan Baptist Church Cemetery.
