Florence (Harvell) Caine

Dora Florence Harvell Caine, born June 18, 1937, age 79, passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fl on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Florence was a resident of Crestview, Fl, born and raised in Holley, Fl. She was surrounded by her loving family when she made her journey to heaven after bravely enduring a short battle with Ovarian Cancer. Florence served many local children as the assistant manager of Crestview High School cafeteria until the time of her retirement. She was Baptist by faith and served alongside her husband, Billy for many years at Antioch Baptist Church. After her retirement, she loved spending time with her family and sitting on her porch with friends. Raw oysters, fried mullet, flowers and birds were a few of her favorite things. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Macon Harvell and Flora Jean McLean Harvell, her husband of 54 years, James "Billy" Caine, sister Louise (Carl) Bernard, brothers James Macon Harvell, Jr. and Duncan "Bud" (Eldease). She is survived by her children, Sylvia (Everett) Peterson of Crestview, Sharon (Ken) Sadler of Niceville, James Caine, Jr. (Rhonda S. Watkins) of Crestview and Robby Mendes of Crestview. Sisters, Catherine (Martin) Wells, Margaret (Bob) Bailey, Judy ( Leroy) Wells, sister-in-law, Edna Harvell and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Crawford, Justin Caine, Baylee Mendes, Mason Mendes, Dewitt (Tiffany) Sadler and twelve cherished great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home chapel Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 12-2pm with funeral service to begin at 2pm. Rev. Jim Skates and Rev. Danny Ellis will officiate. Burial to follow at Antioch Baptist Church in Crestview. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
