GERALDINE NELSON WHOBREY STANLEY

Geraldine Nelson Whobrey Stanley, born August 13, 1930 in Coffee County, AL, passed away November 17, 2015 in Milton, FL.  Geraldine lived most of her life in the panhandle area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Mattie Nelson; husbands, Jakie Whobrey, of 41 years and Charles Stanley of 6 years; one son, William Whobrey; step son Everett Curtis; 3 brothers, Jesse, Leonard, Jr. and Louie Nelson; and three sisters, Olean, Lois and Doris Nelson.

She is survived by a son, Eddy Whobrey and wife Betty, of Crestview; daughters, Gaynell Rogers and husband Vernon, of Milton, Marti Cordell and husband, Jeff Chinn, of Milton, Sandra Wallace and husband Robert, of Baker, Denise Soucy and husband, Bobby, of  Milton; step son, Keith Stanley and wife, Brenda, of Baker; step daughter, Mary Lou Murphy and Mike, of Holt; stepson, Roy Curtis and wife, Connie, of Crestview; sister Mary Irene Sanford, of Crestview; and brother-in-law William “Teenie” Carroll, of Crestview; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be held from 5-6 PM and visitation for friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home, Crestview.  Funeral Services will be on Friday at 11 AM, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery, Fort Walton Beach, FL
