Glenn Dotson

Glenn Dotson age 89 of Baker passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Westwood in Fort Walton Beach. He was born on April 4, 1928, McKinney, TX, to Hartley and Allene Dotson. Glenn was a long time resident of the area. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Baker. Glenn served his country in the United States Army Air Corp. Glenn retired from Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base. He loved to farm, loved his airplane, but most of all he loved his family. Glenn built many memories with his girls, traveling and seeing the country. Gloria was the apple of Glenn’s eye and Glenn was the apple of Gloria’s eye. He set a notable example of what a father and family man should be. Glenn was a friend to many people. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Evelyn Roper. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Eula Dotson, and his daughter Gloria Dotson; 2 brothers Dale Dotson and wife Victoria and Jerry Dotson and wife Bobbie; a sister Jollie Carver. Glenn also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. A time of visitation with the family will be held on Monday, September 4th, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. The celebration of Glenn’s life will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Rev’s Mike McVay and Geoff Prows officiating. Burial will follow in the Aubrey Jordan Cemetery.
