Gloria Dale Blacketer

Gloria “Dale” Blacketer, age 72, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017. She was born on February 12, 1945 to Marvin and Ellie Lindsay in Newville, Alabama. Gloria enjoyed gardening, throwing darts, reading, games, cross-word puzzles, fishing, camping, bargain shopping, yard sales, but most of all she loved spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Dale Blacketer; two brothers; and one sister. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Angie Gortt; brothers, Marvin “Mac” Lindsay and wife Pat, and Roger Lindsay; sister, Linda Raybon and husband Leon; granddaughter, Danielle Gortt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers family would like for donations to be made to Gloria’s granddaughter’s college fund.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 6:00-8:00PM at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home.
