Howard Stokes

Howard Stokes, age 92, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016. He was born May 1, 1923 in Falco, Alabama to Grover and Jane Stokes. Howard served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of Christian Fellowship, he loved God, country and his family. He played golf, loved working outside maintaining 14 acres, loved shelling pecans, and traveling. He retired from electrical engineering and was a proud Auburn graduate.

          Howard is survived by his wife, Arlene Stokes; sons, Alan and Russell Stokes; daughters, Jane Ellis and Beth Allen; seven grandchildren, Jack Ellis, John Ellis, Scott Stokes, Kevin Stokes, Matthew Stokes, Sarah Allen, and Samuel Allen.

          A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am, Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the funeral starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Wing, Cemetery.
