James “Dimp” Boone
Dimp Boone, age 80 of Baker, Fl. passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Crestview Rehab. He was born in Niceville, FL on February 25, 1936, and has been a lifelong resident of Okaloosa County. Dimp worked for Vitro for almost 40 years before retiring. He was a member of Milligan Assembly of God. Dimp loved to fish and hunt, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dimp is survived by his wife of 60 years Bobbie Boone; daughters: Bobbie Henderson and Tommy Settles of Crestview, and Joanne Owen and her husband Berry of Milton. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Jennifer Henderson, Brandon Henderson, Paul Ellis, Kimberly Owen, Chesley Owen and Berry Owen, III. Dimp has 7 great grandchildren that survive him: Ryan, Wyatt, Ashlyn, Garrett, Avery, Caleb, and Hailey.
The service for Dimp will be on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with burial to follow in Berrydale at New Beginnings Pentecostal Church cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Dimp’s memory to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House. The family would like to extend a special Thank you, to the nurses and staff of the 200 Hall for taking such great care of our Daddy…”Da”
