Jerry "Ridgerunner" Edge

Jerry N. Edge “Ridgerunner”, age 71, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016. He was born on May 28, 1945 in Crestview, Florida to Oscar Edge and Cupedine Nowling Edge. Jerry was a lifetime resident of Okaloosa County, Florida. He loved his family, all children and his hunting dogs. He was a professional painter and worked many years in Okaloosa County as a co-owner of Jerry and Larry Edge Painting. He was fun to be around and loved to make people laugh with his stories and jokes. He spent his years fishing and hunting deer with his dogs. He will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews and hunting buddies by his nickname “Ridgerunner.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janet Trent Edge, 16 brothers and sisters, and recently his sister-in-law, Janet Jackson Edge. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth of Alexandria, La., brothers, Terry Edge (Carole), Roland Jackson Edge, Edward Hawthorne (Debra); and sister-in-law, Jan Edge; and numerous nieces and nephews, and his hunting dog, Candy.

            A time of visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home from 6:00-7:00pm with a Memorial Service celebrating Jerry’s life starting at 7:00pm.
