Jessie Brenton (J.B.) Fleming

Jessie Brenton “J.B.” Fleming of Crestview, FL went home to be with Lord on Saturday, May 9, 2015.  He was born on June 9, 1932 to W.D. and Orene Fleming, the second of 14 children.  J.B. attended Laurel Hill School and was the valedictorian of his graduating class.  He joined the Army, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant.  After the Army, J.B. joined his father at Gulf Electric Construction Company, where he served as Vice-President and President until his retirement.  J.B. was an avid hunter and fisherman; a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, & great grandfather.  He was a life deacon at First Baptist Church of Crestview, where he also taught Sunday school for many years.

            J.B. is survived by his wife of 59 years Barbara Fleming, sons: Mike Fleming and wife Connie, Kevin Fleming and wife Marcia; grandchildren: Heath Fleming, Kendrick Fleming and wife Ashley, Cecilee Fleming, and Jessa Fleming. Also surviving are his 2 great grandchildren: Finley Ann and Emma Laine, along with 6 sisters and 1 brother.

            The celebration of J.B.’s life will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Crestview with Reverend Alan Kilgore officiating.  Burial will follow in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery.  A time of visitation with family will begin at 10:00 a.m.
