Joyce Bryan

Joyce Bryan, longtime resident of Crestview, Florida, passed away September 21, 2017. She was born in Grant, Alabama and worked for the telephone company, retiring with more than 35 years of employment. Joyce loved cooking for her family and friends, was a generous person who devoted much of her time to helping others and was an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mimie Selvage, husband, W.C. “Buck” Bryan, sister, Ruby Huskey and brother, O. L. Selvage. Joyce is survived by her son, Dave Bryan, granddaughter, Amanda Bryan, and special friend, Patricia Langham. Lifelong friends include Billie Johnson, Mary Westbrook, Melinda Childs, Carolyn Elmore, and Christine Webster. The celebration of Joyce’s life will be on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with Reverend George Katzman officiating. Burial will follow in the Cotton Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Woodlawn Baptist Church Building Fund, in Joyce’s memory.
