Judith M. McCrary, age 80, long-term resident of Crestview, FL, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at the North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview.  After a courageous one month battle against lymphatic cancer, she is free of suffering and communing with her Lord Jesus Christ in His eternal heaven.
Judith was born on July 8, 1931, in Brundidge, AL, to James Daniel and Floy McEachern, who preceded her in death.  She married Everett M. McCrary in Brundidge, AL, on September 6, 1953, who welcomed her into the Lord’s paradise and had “graduated” to his heavenly residence on March 10, 2009.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Susan McCrary of Fairhope, AL; one sister-in-law, Agnes Boan, of Troy, AL, as well as nephews, nieces and other loving relatives, all of whom will deeply miss her.  She will also be missed by her beloved dalmation dog, Cindy.
Judith gave powerful witness to her deep and abiding faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in her service to the Lord as a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Crestview, FL since 1956.  She was a “prayer warrior.” Family members and friends alike were blessed by her unceasing prayers on their behalf regarding matters large and small, and were encouraged and uplifted by her calmness, grace, and loving hospitality.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 2nd, at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home, 436 West James Lee Blvd., Crestview, FL.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 3rd, at First United Methodist Church, 599 Eighth Avenue, Crestview, FL.  The interment will be a private ceremony at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery and will follow the funeral service.
The family expresses their profound gratitude to Dr. Lee Thigpen, the staffs at the North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, FL; Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, FL; Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL and Silvercrest Manor in Crestview, FL, for the loving medical care extended to Judith during the last month of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
