Leron (Red) Beard

Leron (Red) Beard, age 83, former resident of Crestview, passed away November 3, 2017, in Orlando. He was born November 4, 1933 to the late Barzilla H. (B.H.) Beard and Eunice Inez Steele Beard. Red served in the U.S. Army from January 18, 1956 to January 17, 1958, and was presently a member of Grand Ridge United Methodist Church. Red enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and helping his neighbors in any way necessary. He loved sports and was a devoted FSU Football fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Billy Ron Beard, a brother, Billie Bruce Beard and a sister, Eileen Brown. Red is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Beard; a son, Robert D. Beard; and two sisters, Faylene Calabro and Geraldine Johnson. Funeral Services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Crestview. Visitation with the family will begin at the church at 10 AM. Committal services and burial will follow in Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (alzfdn.org), in Red’s memory.
