Leroy Glenn Lowe,Jr.

Leroy Glenn Lowe, Jr., age 78, passed away Sept. 19, 2017 in Crestview.  He was born June 6, 1939 in Miami, Florida, to Leroy Glenn Lowe, Sr. and Evelyn (Wade) Lowe. Glenn attended Crestview High School and was quarterback from 1959 to 1961. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on May 3, 1962.

Glenn loved hunting, fishing, and any activity that enabled him to be outdoors and in the wilderness.  He began the G. & E. Hunting Club in July,1996, which today has twenty members. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Glenn Lowe, Sr., his step-father, Charles Wade, Esq., his step mother, Thelma Lowe, his sister, Charlene Martin, his nephew, Larry Martin and his niece, Danielle Martin.

Glenn is survived by the mother of his children, Evelyn Lowe; his son, Glenn Edward Lowe and Amy Rice; his daughter, Sarah Katherine Jordan and husband, Michael; his mother, Evelyn Wade; sisters, Maria Davis and Kay Porter; grandchildren, Cody Barnhill and Hunter Barnhill and wife, Saire; great grandchildren, Mellodi Barnhill, Caydence Barnhill and Gaige Barnhill.

The family expresses their thanks and gratitude to Glenn’s caregivers for the love and dedication to caring for Glenn.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home, with Rev. Donnie Cadenhead officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11 AM.
