Robert J. Bender

Robert J. Bender, of Holt, passed away Monday afternoon, December 26, 2016, one day after his 85th birthday. He was born December 25, 1931, in Menno, South Dakota to the late George and Alvina Bender. Robert served his country for over 20 years in the US Air Force. After retiring, he worked in Civil Service and retired from that career as well. Robert was a devoted and very active member of Live Oak Baptist Church in Crestview and will be missed by his church family. Robert is survived by his wife, Madelyn; two sons, Delvin, and Jody (wife, Angie); a daughter, Becky Carroll (husband, Mike); a brother, Ray (wife, Yvonne); sisters, Donna (husband, Paul) and Judy (husband, Willard); four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Live Oak Baptist Church, with Pastor Jerry Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church starting one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Live Oak Church Cemetery.
