Ruth Audrey Kellogg

Ruth Kellogg, age 91 of Crestview and formally of Tallahassee passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Silver Crest Manor surrounded by her family.  She was born in Bronxville, NY on September 1, 1924, to Bernard and Grayce Schulte. She attended Northwestern University where she was a member of Delta Kappa sorority and graduated with a degree in Sociology.  Ruth married her one true love James Kellogg and was happily married 23 years until he passed suddenly in 1973. Ruth’s heart was all about giving to others. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Elder Care Services, Respite Care, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Alzheimer Project of Tallahassee. She worked for 25 years as a social worker before retiring with the State of Florida.  Ruth was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Tallahassee.  She loved the outdoors, picnics in the park, walking on the beach, antiquing, and loved to travel.  Most of all Ruth loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter Sherree Piacentine.

            Survivors include her children: Richard and Donna Kellogg of Stone Mountian Georgia, Jack and Georgia Kellogg of Tallahassee, Bob and Susan Kellogg of Crestview, Audrey and Mark Ogden of China, Linda and Steve Gibson of Indiana, Barbara and Brooks Goodgame of Snellville, Georgia and Mark Fite of Snellville, Georgia, and son-in-law Dale Piacentine of Tallahassee.  Also surviving are her 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

            A family graveside service will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola on Friday, December 4th, 2015, at 12:30 p.m.
