Scott Harrison

    Scott Harrison, age 49 of Laurel Hill, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016.  He was born in Florala, AL on November 19, 1966, to Don Burl and Shelby Harrison.  He was a lifelong resident of Laurel Hill with the exception of five years when he lived in Tallahassee, FL with Susan after they married. Scott graduated from Laurel Hill High School in 1984, Lurleen B Wallace Community College in 1986, and Troy University in 1989.  He was a member of Christian Home United Methodist Church, and was an integral part of running Crestview Paint and Body for the last 18 years. Scott was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to bird and deer hunt and just be in the woods, was a gun collector, loved NASCAR, but most of all he loved being helpful to anyone who might need anything, and most especially he loved being with his family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Don Burl Harrison, grandparents: Willie and Donell Harrison and Fae and Bill Marter; Aunt Betty Harrison and Uncles Sonny Nail and Thomas Jones.

    Survivors include his wife of 24 years Susan Harrison; son Grant Harrison; sister, Jill Adams and her husband Israel; Mother Shelby Harrison; mother and father in law, James and Betty Willis; brother-in-law Chuck Willis; Nieces Afton Adams and Aspen Willis; Nephew Sawyer Adams; and many, many friends.

    The celebration of Scott’s life will be on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Crestview with burial to follow in the Almarante Cemetery in Laurel Hill.  A time of visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 a.m.  Scott will always be remembered for his generosity and his giving heart for helping others.  Because of Scott’s love for helping others, the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Cancer Freeze, P.O. Box 92, Florala, AL 36442, with “Brandy Barger” name on the memo line.  Brandy is the wife of a close friend who is going through cancer treatments.
