Steve was one of the finest people I have ever known. He was my mentor in the years I worked for him at Sears in West Texas and is the reason I chose this proffession. He was a great teacher and a even better friend. He taught me how to challenge myself and showed me that you can achieve what you set your mind to. He will be greatly missed and was an inspiration to those who knew him.

I just learned of Steve's passing. Diane and I spent time with Steve in Louisville at our 2016 COUNTERPARTS reunion. We ate lunch at an Italian pizzeria and Steve insisted on paying the bill. We loved his stories about his past life as a Hungarian freedom fighter and Vietnam Veteran. Steve was a man of honor, a patriot, a brave soldier and a very valuable member of our Adviser association who was always volunteering to help. He had volunteered to host the 2017 reunion. Steve, our lives were made better by knowing you. We will never forget you.
Rich and Diane Webster.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Steve. He was a great person. My wife and I had the great pleasure of being invited out to eat at a great Mexican restaurant in San Antonia, Texas by Steve at a 504th MP reunion. He would not let us pay for anything, even the cab fare. I will never forget his kindness and the great time we had in such a short time .Any time you see a veteran, thank him for his service, that is all any veteran ask for and remember Steve, a kind man whose family came to this country for a new life and made it even greater with their and their son's sacrifices for our country. He will not be forgotten.

Grief, if learned, is really just love, it's all the love you want to give but you cannot. All that unspent love gathers in the corner of your eyes, and a lump in your throat, and in the hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.

Your Loving Wife,

Liesel

It was a hard knock when I discovered Steve had passed away. I'm the President, 42d MP Group (Customs) Reunion Association-upon initially meeting him at our 2006 MP Customs reunion in Gatlinburg, TN my wife and I fell in love with him as we would a favorite uncle. He will be sorely missed at our reunions and I have memorialized him at the 42d MP Group (Customs) Reunion Association Facebook page. Rest in peace, my brother MP!
