Susan Schobert Mixon

Susan Mixon, age 76 of Crestview passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017. She was born in Maine on June 8, 1941, to Ralph and Edith Schobert. After graduating from high school Susan went to work at the Pentagon, and that is where she meets the love of her life Ray Mixon. She retired from Civil Service, but immediately went back to work at Margie’s Nylon and Lace. She was a passionate quilter and went every year to Bernina University to learn and teach class’ in sewing. Susan loved gardening and working in her yard, she always had beautiful flower beds. Another love was her antiquing, which she enjoyed with her son. Susan loved her family and most of all loved her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Paul Schobert. Susan is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ray Mixon; daughter Debbie Haan and husband Barry of Crestview; son Scott Mixon and his wife Susan of Rydal, GA; brother Curtis Schobert and his wife Joan of New York. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Charlie McDonald and his wife Elease; Mallory McDonald, Katie Forsyth and husband Jason, Davis and Molly Mixon and Audrey Mixon.
