Viney (Lundy) Griffith

Viney Lundy Griffith, born December 21, 1931, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, James Peter Griffith; two daughters, three sons, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one on the way. She was born in Laurel Hill, moved to Baker in 1943, married in 1948, and then resided in Pensacola, where she raised her five children. Viney worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired as a Rural Letter Carrier. After retirement, she returned to Baker where she and James gardened and traveled, enjoying their friends and especially her family! A time of visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Baker Block Museum. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
