Harvey Gatewood

Harvey Gatewood was born November 10th 1946. He retired from Armstrong Corp in Pensacola fl and later settled into the farming life. Some of his best days were sitting on his porch watching his cattle, visiting with family and friends and watching the fish bite in his pond. You hardly ever saw Harvey without a dip in his mouth and he always greeted you with a smile on his face. One of his biggest hobbies was selling his hay mainly for the satisfaction of meeting new friends and catching up with the older ones. Harvey, was truly one of a kind to anyone that knew him and most certainly one to be remembered. 

Harvey died  February 17th 2024 leaving behind one son, Jason Madden and wife Michele, One grandson, Robert Lawson and wife Miranda along with their 3 children. Also Leaving behind 3 sisters Melba Motley, Hilda Thames and husband Donnie, Vicky Stewart and husband David, brother Wesley Gatewood and wife Faye, Tony Gatewood and wife Belinda, Larry Cunningham and wife Sharon, Special nephew Jacob Gatewood and Special niece Calista Gatewood. Harvey also had several more Nieces and nephews that he loved very much enriching his life and always finding them a joy to be around. 

He is preceded in death by his Mama and Daddy Vonda and Woodrow Gatewood and his brother Paul Gatewood. 

His laughter, his quirky wisdom and all his silly jokes will be missed by so many. He may be gone but he will never be forgotten. 

Services for Harvey will be held at Blackman Community Center March 2nd at 1 P.M. In Lieu of flowers please donate to the Wing Cemetery in Wing Al., send donations to 7874 Jordan Road Baker, Florida 32531. If choosing to attend his service a covered dish would be appreciated by all family.
