Jesse "Buddy" Medley

 Jesse “Buddy” Eugene Medley, was born on July 5, 1940 to J.T. and Nobie Medley in Baker, Florida. On March 24, 2024, Buddy went home to be with the Lord at the age of 83 after battling pancreatic cancer. He humbly responded often with “It’s all in the Lord's hands”. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters Virginia Cadenhead and Barbara Ann Brown, son Raybon Medley, and grandson Preston Medley. He is survived by his sister Margie Rogers and husband, Richard; brother Larry Medley with Claudia Lankfore; daughter Dannette Finley and husband, Kelly; son Jesse Donette Medley and wife, Myra; daughter Laresa Bowness and husband, Michael “Mike” Stewart; son Kyle Bowness with Kim Jenkins. Grandchildren: Kristian Meeks, Jesse Navarre Medley and wife, Chelsea; Jacqueline Glowa and husband, Ian; Dakota Finley and wife, Laura; Hannah Farias and husband, Filipe; Miranda Lewis, Sydney Lewis with Carson Sayers; Sarah Medley; and Andrew Barnhill. Buddy enjoyed extra blessings later in life with fourteen great grandchildren. Buddy retired after working over 40 years with a defense contractor on Eglin Air Force Base. After retiring he was finally able to enjoy the loves of his life: hunting, fishing, helping people, serving at his church, farming, and especially his family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. The family invites you to his Celebration of Life service at Whitehurst/Powell Funeral Home Thursday morning at 10:00 am with a Graveside service following at Shady Grove Cemetery, Baker, FL. There will also be a time of visitation Wednesday evening 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.
