Allen R. “Sam” Cook of Milton, Florida, passed away on November 7, 2018 with his loving daughters by his side. Sam is predeceased by his beloved wife Evelyn “Evie”; parents Henry and Madolin Cook; and siblings Clarence Henry “Junior”, James Seavy, Charles, and Mary Cathy. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Hungerford (James), Sabrina Vickers (Justin), and Stacey Cook; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings Maudine Howard, Faye Howe, Joyce Huffman, Jeanette Cook, Lyla Peacock, Henrietta Cook, Dianne Weitzen, Warren “Buddy” Cook, and Gary “Pete” Cook; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Sam grew up in Escambia Farms and later moved to Crestview to begin his career in the title insurance business at Okaloosa Title and Abstract Company where he served as President and CEO for many years. Sam was a trusted, knowledgeable, and valuable resource to many in the real estate industry. He retired after 56 years of loyal and dedicated service. Sam loved traveling with Evie, spending summers in Maine, hiking and kayaking, watching college football, especially the Florida Gators, and visiting his family. He also enjoyed attending Bagdad United Methodist Church, Prospect Harbor United Methodist Church and volunteering at the Schoodic Education Adventure Program in Acadia National Park in Maine. Sam’s kindness, generosity, friendship, and guidance were felt by many through his community involvement. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1st at 2:00pm at the First United Methodist Church, Crestview, FL.
