Upon her husband’s retirement from the U.S Army in 1979 they settled on their farm in Baker, Florida. During this time she worked hard on their farm gardening, picking pecans or figs and selling them in the community. This earned her the trade names “The Pecan Lady” or “The Fig Lady” from Baker. She was an active participant in her church Our Lady of Victory. She enjoyed her TV shows, going to the movies, popcorn, Bingo, and spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services were held on August 18, 2019 in which she was laid to rest next to her father at the First Baptist Church of Milligan’s cemetery.
Barbara was dedicated to her family and will be dearly missed by those whose lives she touched and loved.
