Barbara "Bobbie" Boone

Bobbie Boone, age 82 of Baker, FL passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Crestview Rehabilitation Center.  She was born in Berrydale, FL on March 27, 1935 to Novel and Wrennie Nelson.  Bobbie has lived in Okaloosa County for over 60 years.  She worked at the Alatex and Vanity Fair before her retirement.  She was a member of Milligan Assembly of God Church.  Bobbie’s hobby was taking care of other people, she was happiest when doing for other people.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

            Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years James “Dimp” Boone; She is survived by 2 daughters: Bobbie Henderson and Tommy Settles of Crestview and Joanne Owen and husband Berry of Milton.  Also surviving are her grandchildren: Jennifer Henderson, Brandon Henderson and wife Sarah, Paul Ellis and wife Brooke, Kimberly Owen and Chesley Owen; six great grandchildren, Ryan, Ashlyn, Garrett, Avery, Caleb, and Hailey.

            Funeral Services for Bobbie will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with burial at New Beginnings Pentecostal Church in Berrydale, FL.  A time of visitation with the family will begin at 1:30 p.m.

            In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Bobbie’s memory to Emerald Coast Hospice.
