Beulah McCallum
Beulah McCallum passed away at the age of 90 on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. She was born, the fifth of six children, on November 14, 1928 into a North Okaloosa pioneer family near Poverty Creek and was a lifelong resident of Okaloosa County. Beulah held many roles and occupations during her long life—including a pastor’s wife, telephone operator, school food service worker, and a homemaker. By far, her favorite “job” was being ‘Nana’ to Matthew, Hannah, and Nick.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Ivy Pierce and Sidney Leathy (Kilpatrick) Cadenhead; her husband of 62 years, Reverend Donald H. McCallum; an infant daughter, Melody Gail McCallum; her brother Grady I. Cadenhead and wife Ruby; sisters, Gussie Nowling, Essie Mae Mason and husband Lance, and Esther Raybon and husband Vet.
Beulah is survived by daughter, Linda M. Henderson and husband Bobby; son, Roger D. McCallum and wife Cathy; 3 grandchildren, Nancy Henderson Lundy and husband Gary, Becky Henderson Breda and husband Jimmy, Daniel McCallum and wife Ashli; 5 great grandchildren, Emily and Dalton Lundy, Cate Breda, Kinsley and Caden McCallum; her sister Maggie Barrow and husband Dewie; sisters-in-law Eleanor M. Wilson and Sarah McCallum. Also surviving are several cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends and church family.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at Crescent Park Village Assisted Living Facility and Crestview Rehabilitation Center for their devoted care and compassion.
A time of visitation will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Auburn Pentecostal Church, with Rev. Wayne Fussell officiating. Burial will follow in Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery in Crestview.
