Charley Lee age 72 of Crestview passed away on Tuesday morning June 4th, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Crestview on November 2, 1946 to Charles and Ruby Lee and has been a lifelong resident of Crestview. Charley served his country in Vietnam with the United States Army as a sniper. He loved music, especially bluegrass and gospel music. Charley had his own band and played at local venues, The Charley Lee Band. He loved animals and loved the outdoors and spent many days on the river fishing and many days in the woods hunting and he was a fantastic pool player and played many games during his life. Charley had a heart of gold and loved people; he was a people person. If someone was in need, he would lend a helping hand. Charley has a great sense of humor and loved a good story and a good joke. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters: Carol Gresham Lee and Mary Catherine Lee.
Survivors include his daughter Sherri McDonald and her husband Robert, his life companion and fiance Becky Davidson, the mother of his child and still his best friend Susie Lee; sister Martha Lee. Also surviving is his sweet Bella Lee, his companion dog who was always by his side.
A time of visitation with the family will be on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. A private family service will take place at a later date.
