Colis Martin, age 94 of Crestview passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at North Okaloosa Medical Center. She was born in Bradley, AL to Chester and Donie Bradley. Colis and Lonnie were pioneers of Crestview, starting their family business in 1950, Martin Poultry. They employed many people in Crestview throughout their 37 years of ownership. Colis loved her family and her grandchildren was her life. She loved hunting and fishing, loved to sew and make her clothes and pillow cases. Colis loved to “can” anything she could. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Chelse A. Bradley, her husband Lonnie Martin and son Donnie Martin. Survivors include her son Dean Martin and wife Pat; daughter in law Leah Martin; special niece whom she looked at as a daughter, Debbie Bradley, and close extended family Lavonne and Austin Bradley, and Inez Burroughs. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The celebration of Colis’ life will be on Monday, July 9, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery.
