Daniel L Luke

Daniel L. Luke, Sr, age 85 of Crestview, FL passed away on June 24, 2017.  He was born in Laurel Hill, FL to Ollie and Sybil Luke.

            D. L. graduated from Laurel Hill High School and received Bachelor and Master’s degrees from Troy University.

            D. L. was a much-admired teacher and administrator at Richbourg Jr. High School from 1959 until his retirement in 1986.  He was a dedicated Christian, member of First Baptist Church and a Deacon Emeritus as well as a former Sunday School teacher.

            D.L. is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marlene Luke; two sons: Danny Luke and wife Debbie and Stan Luke and wife Lissie; four granddaughters, Stephanie Luke, Elizabeth Irby and husband Clint, Lexie Collins and Maddie Luke; three great granddaughters, Olivia Irby, Emma Irby and Leighton Collins; several cousins, several nieces and one sister.

A time of visitation with the family will be held at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home, on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 1:00 till 3:00 pm.  According to his wishes there will be a graveside service, at 3:00pm at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery.
