Darwin Adams

Darwin A. Adams passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 18, 2018 in Crestview, Florida. He was born on December 7, 1930 in Paxton, Florida.

Darwin served in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953, when he was honorably discharged. After his military career, he spent time as an insurance agent. Darwin spent 30 years at Danley Furniture Company, where he spent many years as manager before retiring. He was a devoted family man who was always willing to stretch out an open hand to others in need.

He is survived by his wife,of 64 years,  Annie C. Adams of Florala, Alabama; daughter, Angela Wilson and her husband John, of Crestview, Florida; two grandchildren, Katherine Wilde and her husband, Billy of Crestview, Florida and Kimberley Huggins of Crestview, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Brooklyn, and BJ Wilde, and Kelsea Huggins; brother Donnell Adams of Pensacola, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Davis and Mary Ella Adams.

Visitation is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home, with Pastor Donnie Cadenhead officiating. The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Barrancas National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
