David Floyd Martinez

David Floyd Martinez, age 55, passed away on September 5, 2019. He was born on January 31, 1964 in Queens, New York to Veronica Genova and Baltazar Martinez. David loved making floral arrangements, wreaths, and fashioned his own jewelry. He had his own shop, Designs by David, where he sold his creations. David was a loving son to his parents, loving uncle to his nieces and nephews, and loving brother to his siblings. He went Christmas shopping early in anticipation of his death so that his family could celebrate with him after his passing.

David was preceded in death by his father, Baltazar Martinez  and by his nephew, Jamie Martinez Jr.

He was survived by his mother, Veronica Genova. His brothers and sisters: James Martinez and wife Naomi, Baltazar Martinez, Elsa Ruiz and her husband Angel, Edgardo Villanueva, and Veronica Joanne Ward and her husband Terry.  

A celebration of life will begin on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home.
