Donnell Gilley

Donnell Gilley, age 88, passed into the arms of his savior Jesus, on January 15, 2020 at his home in Laurel Hill, Florida after a bout with cancer. Mr. Gilley was born February 6, 1931 in Laurel Hill, Florida to Myrtice and Liman Gilley.

Donnell proudly served his country in the Army. He was an expert carpenter making custom cabinets. After retiring Donnell was an avid gardener. He seemed to have a green thumb. One of his hobbies was raising quail and pheasants. He loved his Savior Jesus. He was involved in many church activities. He was a devoted husband, father and friend. Donnell was preceded in death by his son, Gary Gilley.

Donnell is survived by his Loving wife Nadine Gilley; his children, Mike Gilley (Mary), Shelia Bain (Wally), Carol Riggall(John), and Gloria Fowler (Holly); his brother, Ray Frank Gilley; numerous grands, great grands, nieces, and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

The funeral is scheduled for Friday, January 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Auburn Pentecostal Church, 6144 FL-85, Crestview, Florida, 32536. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. at the church. Pastor Ron Williamson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
