Frederick C. Bodeman
April 16, 1928 -- March 31, 2019
Fred was born in Gibsonburg, Ohio. He began working at an early age. When he was 15 he went to work on the Great Lakes working on the ore boats. He enlisted in the National Guard at 18. In 1947 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. When the Army and Air Force were separated he chose to go into the Air Force where he served for 21 1/2 years. He served at multiple bases traveling to San Antonia, Texas, Biloxi, Mississippi, Munich, Germany, Morocco, North Africa, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. He met Shirley Y. Morrison in 1954, they were married July 16, 1954. They traveled together moving from base to base as their family grew. Their first daughter Constance Y. Bodeman was born at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Their son Eric C. Bodeman was born in Valparaiso, Florida. Daughter Katherine J. Bodeman was born Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Beth M. Bodeman was born at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.
After retiring from the air force, Fred worked for the Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base for another 21 years. Retiring in 1992.
Fred was a hard-working man, always providing for his family. He had five Grand Children. Christopher L. Bodeman, Jason W. Sears, Scott J. Gray, Roxanna S. Gray, Mark A. Stover, Great Grand Children. Alison M. Sears, Callie N, Sears, Levi F. White, Neely L. Gray, Lara M. Brewer, Lainey K. White, Raymond J. Seger.

A time of visitation will be held at 9:00am on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 10:30am. Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.
