Gary Day

Gary Day, age 59 of Crestview passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Crestview Rehab Center.  He was born in Crestview on September 14, 1958, to James and Evelyn Day.  Gary graduated from Crestview Senior High in 1976.  Gary loved sports and played football and baseball while at Crestview.  After graduating he served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years.  Upon leaving the Air Force Gary returned home and went to work and ran Day’s Paint an Body.  He loved to hunt and fish, loved sports, and loved working on cars.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brother Greg Day.

            Survivors include his brother Dexter Day and wife Rhonda, sister Donna Patterson and husband Peter; sister in law Susan Day.  Also surviving are his nieces and nephews: Justin and Nathan Patterson, Christa Martinez, Hannah Day and Lauren Jackson. Also, surviving are several great-nieces, nephews and extended family members.

            A memorial for Gary will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 7:00pm at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral.  A time of visitation with the family will begin at 6:00pm.  In Lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in Gary’s Memory to the American Heart Association.
