Gary "Buck" Booker

Gary “Buck” Booker, age 61, of Baker, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 18, 2018, in a local hospital.  He was born May 3, 1956 in Crestview to William and Rachel Booker, graduated Baker High School in 1974 and attended Rock Creek Assembly of God.  Buck was an avid hunter and farmer, and loved working with his cows.  He was a great cook and enjoyed socializing with friends at meetings and gatherings.  But his greatest love and devotion was for his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, William, his sister, Sheila Green and grandparents, Pa and Granny Taylor.

Buck is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cindy Booker; their son, Wade Booker; his mother, Rachel Booker; mother and father in law, Johnny and Loretta Jones; brother in law, Darrell Jones and Kendra; sister, Doris James and husband, Billy; nieces and nephews, Chase Green, Rebecca Whitfield, Erica Bolton and their families; and many, many friends.

A time of visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 2:30 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Bullard Cemetery in Baker.
