Ina Mae Simon

Mrs. Ina Mae Simon age 90 of Baker passed away on Sunday May 19th, 2019 surrounded by her family.  She was born in Baker, FL on March 23, 1929 to Eddie and Idell Lee.  Mrs. Ina graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1948, she has been a lifelong resident of Baker.  She retired from the Okaloosa County School System and was a member of the Lebanon Missonary Baptist Church.  Mrs. Ina loved to cook and She enjoyed taking care of her children and others.  If you had a need for anything Mrs. Ina was always there to lend a helping hand.  She was preceded in death by her parents Idell and Eddie Lee, Sr, her husband Elisha “Lil Bud” Simon and one brother Eddie Lee, Jr.

Mrs. Ina is survived by her children: Michael and (wife Cindy), Deborah and (husband Don), Larry and (wife Mia), Mark and (wife Brenda), and Cathy and (husband Donnie). 7 grandchildren: Antonius, Ryan, Larry, Alicia, Mark Jr., Matthew, and Miles.  Also surviving are her 6 great grandchildren.

A time of visitation with the family will be on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home.  The celebration of Mrs. Ina’s life will be on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church, 1288 Washington Ave, Baker, FL 32531  

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made in Mrs. Ina’s memory to Emerald Coast Hospice or Shoal Creek Rehabilitation.
