Jimmy Ray Anglin, age 76, longtime resident of Crestview, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, September 4, 2018, in Crestview. He was born November 8, 1941 in Southport, Florida. Jimmy graduated Baker High School and worked for Hudson’s Furniture in Crestview. He then was employed by Southeastern Bell Telephone Company, where he worked as a lineman before retiring after 30 years of service. Jimmy enjoyed Drag Racing and competed at local drag strips. During his later years, he loved fishing and was an avid bass angler. Throughout the years, Jimmy and his late wife, Annette were very active members of Crestview Elks Lodge 2624, organizing and participating in many community events.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Annette Anglin, his parents, W. H. and Beatrice (Fountain) Anglin, a brother, Henry Anglin and an infant son, Ricky Lee Anglin.
Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Steve and Mary Anglin, of Crestview; grandchildren, Logan Ray Anglin, of Pensacola, and Madison Paige Anglin, of Crestview; a sister, Doris Ward, of Baker, FL; a brother and sister in law, Walter and Joyce Anglin, of Southport; and many other loving relatives and friends.
The time of visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Liveoak Park Cemetery in Crestview. Pallbearers will be members of the Crestview Elks Lodge.
