Larry Godwin

Larry Godwin, age 65, passed away on December 9, 2018. He was born on December 6, 1953 in Crestview, Florida to Raleigh and Christine Godwin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching westerns, just being in the outdoors, and he loved his family. Larry is preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Melissa Anne Godwin.

He is survived by Patsy Lawson of 25 years; daughters, Linette Clausman and husband Chris, Jennifer Young and husband Jason, son Jason Godwin and wife Angel, Patsy's children: Michael Sowell, Tiffany Odom, Daniel Lawson, and Amanda Tilburg and husband Derrick; brothers, Tommy Godwin and wife Carolyn, Carl Godwin and wife Patti, Harold Godwin and wife Kay, and Danny Godwin and wife Dana, the mother of his children Marie Griffin Also surviving are his 14 grandchildren: Dakota, Helen, Madison, Gavin, Leslee, Austin, Haylee, Logan, Kaylee, Tristan, Addie, Parker, Adalynn and Lawson and 1 great grandson Oliver Mayson.  Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many many friends also survive.

A time of visitation with the family will be from 5:30 till 8:30 Tuesday, December 11th, 2018 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home.  The celebration of Larry’s life will be on Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with Reverend David Elliott officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Cemetery.  Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made in Larry's memory to the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery Fund.
