Marnell Fortner Vanderford age 91 of Baker, Fl went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 12, 2019. She was born on July 16, 1927 in Baker, FL and was retired from Compass Bank where she made many friends. Marnell was a member of LifePoint Church in Crestview where she was in her earlier years a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and active in the church bus ministry. Marnell is survived by her children Linda Wiley and husband Bobby of Mexico Beach, Gil Fortner, and Greg Fortner and wife Gloria all of Baker. She was blessed with eight grandchildren: John Wiley, Lee Wiley Dixon and husband Andrew, Lindsay Ritter and husband James, Colin Fortner, Coltin Fortner, Carlee Fortner, Blake Fortner and wife Misty, and Brittany Day and husband Charles. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren: Gavin Fortner, Payton Fortner, Roland Dixon, and Connor Wiley. Our mother was blessed with the most wonderful and loving caretakers: Sharon Hooks, Cindy Pilkilton, Rhonda McLaughlin, Terri Owens, Thelma Fleming, Jennifer Cimino and Teresa Barrow. Her life was enriched by their service. The celebration of Marnell’s life will be on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at LifePoint Church with burial to follow in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will be on Monday, January 14th, 2019 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
