Mary Evelyn Adams

Mary Evelyn Adams age 88 of Crestview passed away on Tuesday October 22, 2019.  She was born on November 3, 1930 in Brantley, AL to Buford Q. Stokes and Nina Mae Stokes and was the last surviving of 9 children.  Mary was employed for a brief time by Monsanto but worked for many years and retired from the Alatex Sewing Factory.  She loved to sing, loved to cook and loved to sew.  Most of all she loved her family, especially those grandbabies.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband Langston “Rooster” Adams; daughter Pamela Diane Adams; Son Paul Lane Adams; grandson Langston Paul Adams.  5 brothers and 3 sisters also preceded Mary.

          Survivors include her children: Janice Richardson and husband Don, Warren Adams and wife Tammy, and Sherry Evelyn Anglin and husband Randy; 11 grandchildren: Jennifer Hammond, Julie Odum, Krystal Peterson, True Lee Richardson, Angel Perez, Karey Estingoy, William Randy Anglin, Jr., Tyler Lee Adams, Laura Evelyn Woods, and Landon Edward Adams.  Also surviving are 24 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

          The celebration of Mary’s life will be on Sunday October 27, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral. Officiating will be Warren C. Adams and Bro. Wayne Johnson. Burial will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery.  A time of visitation with the family will begin at 2:00 p.m.
