Ronnie “R.O.” Steele

            Ronnie Steele, age 86 of Crestview passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.  He was born in Pensacola, FL, on May 9, 1931, to John and Buna Steele and has been a lifelong resident of Crestview.  Ronnie Graduated from Crestview High School in 1950 and married his wife Yvonne in 1952.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Crestview and had Ron Steele Insurance Agency in Ft. Walton for many years.  Ronnie love spending time with his wife, enjoyed working in his yard and exercising.  He also loved watching football.  Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and his son Richard Michael Steele in 2013.

            Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Yvonne Steele, sons: Rodney Steele and his wife Glenda of Titus, AL and Russell Steele and his wife Laura of Navarre, FL.  7 grandchildren survive: Rick Jr, Trevor, Alexis, Heath, Waylon, Hayden, and Nolan, along with 3 great grandchildren: Jorden, Grace, and Grant.  Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.

            The celebration of Ronnie’s life will be on Friday, October 6th, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery.  A time of visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m.
