My condolences to all family and friends. I remember Shelby as a good friend and classmate from Crestview High School and I was so very sorry to hear this sad news. He was a lot of fun to be around and he could always make me laugh, he has such a cheerful smile and will be greatly missed. He was a good friend to many throughout our time in school, he cared about his classmates and helped many of us make it through teenage years. We all respected his wisdom and ability to see the bright side of life and considered it as an honor to know him. Our thoughts and prayers for his family and friends, with my deepest sympathy, Lucinda.

Thank you all for your support and memories. Shelby (I've always called him that) has told me so many stories in our 17yrs that I feel I know you. As you know, he was a simple, no nonsense man, he told me he didnt want anyone to dress up for his memorial. Please dress casual for him. He thanks you for that. God bless you all.

A better friend, worker, and all around person can never be found. You could always depend on him. He never let anyone down. He went out of his way to help people. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

We send our sincerest condolences. Bits was our favorite neighbor. We had some fantastic, wonderful, good times together in the mid-late 80s before we moved away. Rest In Peace friend. I often retell his story when he took Amber and his dad canoeing 🛶 Bits and Amber were in one canoe and had a good lead ahead of his dad so he pulled onto a sand bar to wait. Meanwhile, he saw an alligator -a dead alligator. So he found a stick to prop open the gators mouth then sat Amber close to the gator then hid. Shortly after, his dad’s canoe came around the bend and welll..I think you can figure out the “Rest of The Story”.

Thinking of you all during this time. I’ll always remember when Granny and I would come to Florida, Bits was always up for taking me on a motorcycle ride. He and Kim especially loved to pick on me continuously. Love you all!!
