Shelby E. Hart Obituary

Shelby Hart age 80, of Crestview passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at West Florida Hospital. He was born in Auburndale, FL on February 28, 1938 to Leo and Ruth Hart. Shelby served his country in the United States Air Force.  He opened Badcock Home Furniture in Crestview in 1971, and operated it for 32 years.  Shelby loved to play cards, loved to go fishing, loved the military and his country, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.

He is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Ruth Hart and a daughter in law Darree Hart.

          Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Becky Hart of Crestview, son Mike Hart of Brewton, AL and daughters: Kimberly and Jay Findley of Ontario, Canada, and Destiny Hart of Lake Wales, FL.  He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren: Ben, Jake, Zak, Jason, Bryan, Cameron, Cody, and Ashley.  13 great grandchildren also survive and a nephew Jonathan James of California.

          A time of visitation with the family will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018, at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. Shelby will be laid to rest in his home town of Auburndale, FL
