Sibyl Moore

Sibyl Moore, age 81 of Crestview passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Tallahasse Memorial Hospital. She was born in Chipley, FL on April 8, 1937, to Uley and Madell Bass. Sibyl was a member of First Baptist Church of Crestview for many many years. Sibyl invested so much of her life in the pursuit of helping others. Whether it be through her involvement in the church with a heart for missions or her fulfilling work with service canines, she never missed a chance to help those in need. When not dedicating her heart and soul to others, Sibyl’s great love lived in her family. She was never happier than when her house was full of her children and grandchildren. Much of her later life became dedicated to passing down important lifelong lessons to her grandchildren that loved her unconditionally. In between Granny Camp trips to the Zoo and large family dinners, she always found the time to work in her devotionals. God and family were her true passion. Sibyl was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Gene Moore. Survivors include her children: Gregory E. Moore and wife Christine, Dee Dee Moore and Hunter Snow, Janine Outmezguine and her husband Georges.; Brother Hymie Bass and a sister Martha Ann Brinley. The apples of her eye were her grandchildren: Bonnie Sara Snow, Hayden Hunter Snow, Britney Loren Moore, Brittany Francis Rusk, Carmen Mckensie Moore, Robert James Petillo, and Christine Castelli. Sibyl also had 4 great grandchildren survive: Cullen Gregory Moore, Jonathan Jayce Hewett, Anthony and Joseph Castelli. The celebration of Sibyl’s life will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Crestview with Rev. Fran Picker officiating. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be given to missions at First Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
