Stephen Bernard Mancini (1922-2018)
Stephen Bernard Mancini died peacefully at Silvercrest Nursing Home in Crestview Florida on February 18, 2018. He was born on December 23, 1922 in Danbury Connecticut. Son of the late Anthony and Concetta (Marasco) Mancini. He was predeceased by his Beloved wife Yolanda (Mazzoli) Mancini. Stephen is survived by his daughter Sharon and husband Michael Burns of Crestview, Florida and his four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many extended family members. Stephen served in the US Navy Armed Guard in WWII. He was very proud to serve his country and thankful for the lifelong friends he made in that unit. After the war he went into electronics and worked in radio and T.V. business in Danbury, Connecticut for many years. As the space science technological industry was growing, he worked in telemetry for several companies, and retired from Perkin Elmer in 1985. He was also very involved with the Oblates of the Virgin Mary in Boston, Massachusetts and in Hawaiian Garden, California. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday February 23, 2018 at 10am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic church in Crestview, Florida. There will be no calling hours held. Internment with military honors will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery Monday 26, 2018. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
