Wendell Wilkie Cuthriell

Wendell Wilkie Cuthriell, age 77, of Crestview, Florida passed from this life after a courageous battle with cancer on September 6, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Rita “Susan” Cuthriell; daughter, Karen Rogers and her husband Tommy, Gary Cuthriell and his wife Vicki, step son, Clay Tidwell and his wife Alexandra, step daughter Angela Cox; four grandchildren, Calista Hulion, Nicole Crinklaw, Kristen Cuthriell, and John “JT” Cuthriell; also five step grandchildren, Cassi Tidwell, Christopher Tidwell, Andrew Cox, Ryan Rogers, and Claire Rogers; and blessed with six great-grandchildren.

Wendell was born in Hacoda, Alabama on April 19, 1940 to Pearlie Mae Cuthriell and John Dewey Cuthriell. He has one brother; Harold Cuthriell Sr. of Samson, Alabama.

Wendell served in the Army National Guard for twelve years and then started his career at Fairchild-Hiller Aircraft Service Division in 1967 as a Supply Clerk in Crestview, Florida. He retired from Fairchild in 1991 and went on to work for Remsco in Crestview where he finally retired in 2014.

Wendell enjoyed Alabama Football, fishing, camping and traveling with his wife Susan.

The visitation will be from 1:00 P.M.-2:00PM on Saturday September 16, 2017 at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. The service will begin at 2:00P.M. with Brother Donnie Cadenhead officiating.
