Wyndon Castleberry age 79 of Crestview passed away on Sunday November 17, 2019. He was born in Laurel Hill, FL on March 24, 1940 to Leo and Malena Castleberry. Wyndon has been a lifelong resident of Laurel Hill and Crestview area. He worked as a shift Captain for the Crestview Fire Department for 27 years. Wyndon also owned and operated Castleberry Marine with his father for many years, they opened the shop in 1970. Wyndon loved to fish and loved his NASCAR. He loved to go to car shows and show off his Ford Mustang. Wyndon took home several trophies for his Mustang. Wyndon was proud, as was his family, that he had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior on July 23, 2015 and followed within believers Baptism. He was preceded in death by his parents and half-brothers: Ralph and Everett Baggett.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years Joan Castleberry; sons: Donnie Castleberry and wife Nerissa and Leo Castleberry and wife Becky. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A time of visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. The celebration of Wyndon’s life will be on Thursday November 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Crestview with Reverend Stan Lewis. Burial will follow in the Almarante Cemetery.
